Cooking Kitchen Brisbane Cheeseburger Fries

Eating healthy is always important. Although, it doesn’t hurt to get a little burger and chips in. As Australians are now looking at home cooked meals versus eating out, home cooks are considering healthier options as well as saving on food expenses.

There are days where we can’t help but have a fast food meal but quickly reconsider that there are wholesome options out there by cooking in your own simple and modern kitchen while having guests or family around your benchtop.

Craving for the taste of burger and fries but want something easy to share? Well, you can still get the classic American cheeseburger and mix it up with crispy fries. Here’s a no fry option for you to try according to Taste.

INGREDIENTS:

1kg white potatoes, cut into chips

1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil

1 brown onion, sliced

500g Coles Australian 3 Star Beef Mince

2 tablespoons tomato sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon American mustard

1 cup (120g) grated cheddar

Tomato sauce, extra, to serve

American mustard, extra, to serve

4 dill pickles, sliced

2 tomatoes, chopped

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1

Preheat oven to 220C. If you’re using Kleenmaid’s K-touch Hydrolytic® Steam and Convection Combi, it has thermal reflective glass that ensures the heat is retained within the oven and not lost through the glass. An awesome feature to make sure your chips are crispy and golden!

Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Place the potato on the lined tray. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of oil. Season. Bake for 30 mins or until golden and tender.

Step 2

Meanwhile, heat the remaining oil in a large frying pan over high heat. Cook the onion, stirring, for 2 mins or until starting to brown. Add the mince and cook, stirring, for 5 mins or until browned. Add the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce and mustard. Cook for 2 mins or until combined. Season.

Step 3

Carefully divide the potato chips among 4 ovenproof serving dishes or ramekins. Top with the mince mixture and cheese. Bake for a further 5 mins or until cheese melts.

Step 4

Drizzle the chip mixture with extra tomato sauce and mustard. Sprinkle with pickle and tomato. Serve immediately.

You can use the pizza, roast, bake and other functions of Kleenmaid’s Hydrolytic Multifunction Oven when you cook the healthier option of your favourite fastfood meal.

Easy Friday Finger Food

Ingredients: 24 Servings

3 eggs
4 rashers of bacon, diced
1 small onion or 1/2 large – diced (You can use red onion for extra colour instead of a brown onion)
2 tablespoons of tasty cheese, grated
salt and pepper, to taste
dash of thickened cream, optional
sprinkle of fresh or dried parsley, optional
3-4 pre-made frozen puff pastry squares

Instructions from All Recipes:

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C.
Lightly grease 2 patty cake pans (12 cup) with cooking spray or butter.
In a bowl, mix the eggs, bacon, onion, cheese, salt, pepper, cream and parsley (optional) with a fork until mixed together well.
Using an egg ring, glass or pastry cutter, cut circles out of the defrosted puff pastry and place into the greased patty cake trays (you can use muffin trays but the patty cake ones fit better).
Spoon the mixture into the pastry.
Bake in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes or until golden brown.

We recommend Kleenmaid’s Multifunction Oven 60CM OMF6030 because of its lock on electric timer and its lower heating element for pastries.

With or without puff pastry, they still come out really good.

Love the recipe? You can also get your kids to help you and they’re great for school lunches!
